Expanding the Learning Resources Center (LRC) to accommodate increasing enrollments and services desired by its constituency was the goal of this additions/ remodeling project.

As a result, the new LRC is in the hub of student traffic at the perimeter of the College’s main entrance lobby. Users enter the LRC through a 2-story glass wall that gives way to a warm and spacious browsing and check-out area. The micro computer room; periodical, reference, and career areas; offices; archives; storage; and service rooms make up the rest of the first floor.

The entire book collection, study carrels, and small group rooms comprise the second floor as it wraps around a lightwell that is open to the browsing area below.

An open staircase within the light-well connects upper & lower as it stretches out to a glass, barrel-vaulted skylight, which blankets both levels of the LRC with natural light. An elevator also provides access between floors.
